Court Booking Protocol
There are certain club rules that we ask members to adhere to, due to the increase in membership numbers.
If we all follow these simple courtesies, things will run smoothly.
- ¾ hour bookings only (unless previously approved) – you are welcome to re-book the court after this if the courts are not busy
- All courts are available for pre-booking. You can either book at the club or over the internet
- Please wear the correct footwear, non-marking soles, otherwise you will be asked to leave the court
- Practice sessions may only be used for this purpose – i.e. solo practice. If you are bringing a visitor who is a reciprocal member (a member or another HB Club who can prove their membership) please see the Manager and this can be loaded onto your card
- If you are playing with a visitor/non-member of our club, then a fee of $7.50 applies at all times. If this person is a prospective member, please see the Manager and a couple of trial games can be arranged.
PLEASE NOTE:
- Practice and visitor usage can now be viewed and monitored on the computer
- Free play for non-members is unfair to the club as this is costing us in light fees and unearned revenue. This is a way of keeping your membership fees down, so play fair!
To make a booking on the foyer computer
- One card is required with enough credit for the whole period - $1.20
- Pass the card over the red sensor
- Click “Make Booking”

To confirm a booking
- Once a booking as been made it then needs to be confirmed before the court lights can be activated
- Confirming your booking requires 2 cards, unless you are having a solo practice session, the cost will then be split between the cards - $0.60 each. A credit of $0.60 will be given back to the person who made the booking.

- Click “Confirm Booking”
- Left click the booking
- Highlight the booking to be confirmed
- Click “Confirm Booking” at the bottom of the screen
- Pass 2nd player card over the sensor or choose the option to have a “Practice” or “Visitor”

- If you are late, the full $1.20 is deducted from your card and is non-refundable
Putting credit on your card – via coin box
- Pass card in front of sensor
- Select coin meter
- Enter your coins into the slot very slowly – allow the meter to register the coin entered onto your total before adding another coin
- Account balance will come up on the computer screen
- Press OK when complete
- The Manager can add credit to your account on the office computer, so if you want to credit, say, $10, this is the easiest option
Practice and Visitor Booking
- The Practice session is to enable club members to practice by themselves. If you wish to have a practice session, you need to have enough credit on your card for the whole court time ($1.20 for 45 minutes) PLUS have the practice session enabled on your card. This must be done through the office.
- If you wish to bring in a visitor who is not a member of this or any other club a fee of $7.50 must be paid to the Manager. You will need credit of that value or more on your card before you attempt to make your booking and you will need the visitor session enabled on your card; this must be done through the office
- Pass the card over the red sensor
- Click “Make Booking”
- Select period for play. Click left mouse on start period and continue to hold down as you scroll the red ball down to end period – maximum 3 periods per game
- When asked for a second card, at this stage you either select “practice” or “visitor”
